Standard Operating Procedure for Equipment Troubleshooting in Creams Production

1) Purpose

2) Scope

4) Procedure

4.1 Initial Assessment

4.1.1 Immediately report any equipment malfunction or abnormal operation to the supervisor or maintenance department.

4.1.2 Conduct initial visual inspection to identify obvious signs of equipment damage, leaks, or abnormal noise.

4.1.3 Document the nature of the equipment issue, including symptoms and observations, in the equipment troubleshooting log.

4.2 Isolation and Safety Measures

4.2.1 Follow lockout/tagout procedures to isolate the equipment from power sources and ensure it is safe for troubleshooting.

4.2.2 Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for the troubleshooting activities.

4.2.3 Ensure all nearby

personnel are informed about the equipment isolation and potential hazards.

4.3 Diagnostic Testing

4.3.1 Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, pressure gauges, or temperature probes to assess the operational parameters of the equipment.

4.3.2 Perform functional tests to simulate the equipment operation and identify specific areas of malfunction.

4.3.3 Refer to equipment manuals, schematics, or standard operating procedures for troubleshooting guidance.

4.4 Problem Resolution

4.4.1 Identify the root cause of the equipment issue based on diagnostic findings and analysis.

4.4.3 Document all actions taken during the troubleshooting and repair process in the equipment troubleshooting log.

4.5 Verification and Testing

4.5.1 Verify the effectiveness of repairs or adjustments by conducting operational tests and monitoring equipment performance.

4.5.2 Conduct trial runs or validation tests to ensure the equipment operates within specified parameters and meets production requirements.

4.5.3 Obtain supervisor or QA approval before returning the equipment to normal operation.

4.6 Documentation and Reporting

4.6.1 Complete the equipment troubleshooting log with details of the issue, actions taken, and outcomes of troubleshooting.

4.6.2 Report unresolved or recurring equipment issues to the maintenance department or relevant authorities for further investigation and action.
