1) Purpose

3) Responsibilities
The Facilities Management Department is responsible for implementing and adhering to this SOP. The HVAC Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance on HVAC filters.
4) Procedure
- Filter Inspection and Replacement Schedule
- Develop a preventive maintenance schedule for HVAC filters based on manufacturer recommendations and operational requirements.
- Inspect filters regularly for dust buildup, damage, or signs of wear.
- Replace filters according to specified intervals or when they no longer meet efficiency requirements.
- Filter Replacement Process
- Turn off HVAC system power before beginning any maintenance work.
- Remove and dispose of old filters properly.
- Install new filters according to manufacturer instructions, ensuring correct orientation and sealing.
- Record filter replacement date, type, and location for documentation.
- Filter Performance Testing
- Conduct performance tests on newly installed filters to verify airflow and efficiency.
- Adjust HVAC system settings if necessary to optimize filter performance.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of filter inspections, replacements, and performance tests.
